Tuesday Sally ran in Race 5 as No.5 and she exploded on the backside to run up to the leaders and then faded at the top of the stretch to finish 7th a really impressive move.. the Jockey never said a word and I do not know any more than when i sent her to the track.. she did not get as worked up so mayabe we are there...

  1. Maybe the next race if the rider waits even longer to make the move it would work better. One late rush. Eating better yet?

  3. In my career I won hundreds of races, and had my best luck with training lightly on most fillies and mares. Not all! There are some big ole stout ones that could take the training. But once fit, they can make it pretty handy off of some ponying and slow gallops. If you can walk them 2 days before the race and have that late rush, they are rested and strong so as to finish strong. It took me years to learn and lot's of help from old trainers that took the time and interest to help me. I remember one day an old woman, one of the first to train in Az. told me to watch what was going to happen. She said this new trainer had drilled his filly and when he ran her she came up short. Only thing is, she said, the filly wasn't short, she got tired, from being over trained. She predicted the trainer would bear down harder on the filly. And sure enough he did! She ran worse!! So the old lady went over and talked to him and he took her advice and the filly won or ran really well next out. I forget. It was 35 years ago. I was a trainer for almost 4 decades and blessed with much success. You will be just fine if you don't give up. Just keep plugging away and surround yourself with experienced successful people who are willing to help because they want to see you do good. Not for any other reason. I always relied on my exercise rider's advice BUT!! I always had the luxery of having the top hands on the grounds. You can't rely on the advice of a loser exercise rider that is a wanna be trainer!!! But don't under estimate the advice of a top hand. I used to always say I was so successful because I surrounded myself with the best help money could buy!!! I think I might have played a small roll in it too tho. LOL!
