Sally hurt herself and is done racing

Brought Sally hoem where she proceeded to hurt her rear leg in a panel. She is done racing, much to my regret I nver brke her maiden. She had a little talent but I had no luck. Bred her to Lazzeri (Grand Slam out of July Sun by Storm Cat).

Sally has hurt her back and will be sidelined for awhile..She is doing better and I hope to run her before the meet is up.

NO races going for us

Have entered several races but noe have filled. Have entered today for sat but donto know yet if the race went. All is going well but Sally has gone off her feed agoin. not sure why..she seems fine but not eating like i want her to..

Lots going on

No race rite now for Sally until the 8 of Feb, hopefully. there is lots of turmoil here at Turf Paradise, mostly the mgmt is at odds with the horsemen and sometimes the horsemen are doing dumb stuff also. One would think that they would realize we are all in the same boat, not in different boats same thing with the breeding industry -one boat, and we need to pull in the same direction not in various directions.

Another day in Paradise

Yet another frustrating day, as the gallop boy wants to be the trainer.. Sent Sally out for a 2mile gallop and he says she should jog. I said no she gallops and he proceeds to hobby horse her around twice. Am lookin for another rider.. Races are not setting up and nothing has really gone right since I got here. VERy Frustrating...Her last race she decided to run from the gate and the jock was told to send her at the 5/16th pole ,so he fought her and then when he asked her to run -NADA...He did as he was told to do...go figure...

Races cancelled

The races have been cancelled fort he past 3 days adn I will reenter Sally for Tuesday.
she is doing good, eating up and i think I am onthe rite track.

Sally in for sat 1/23/2010

Sally is set to run on sat and she will be sporting a set of blinkers for the first time, I think when she was turned out with the other mares for the last couple of years she got a reactionary deal in her head and this has seemeed to overide the idea. hopefully. the race is Mdn Speccial or 30k claiming we went for the 30k..she went very well today in her gallop in new head gear..

Sally entered to run on Turf

Sally is entered to runon Turf for Sat. Jan 23 2010, she is one of six. Am putting blinkers on to help her run . Other than that all systems are go. I am taking a shot that grass is a surface she may like better as she has some turf breeding not that means much.

The story of Sally Gal.

Some years back I was married to Esther who had always liked horses but never got any where to be around them before we got married. One day I called her from Tampa Bay DOwns and asked her if she really wanted to breed horses and she said yes. I bought Cat's Pajamas and I sent her along with another mare and bred both of them to THe Deputy(IRE) who stood at Margauex Farm in Ky. we got a nice filly who when we were trying to decide to name her I said to Esther :Why not call her Sally Gal for what your Daddy Paul (her grandpa) would always call you.Esther being Italian started to cry and said ok hence the name Sally Gal for the 2004 foal by The Deputy )IRE) out of Cat's Pajamas by Press Card. Esther passed away while Sally was a yearling. I sent her to Emerald Downs to be trained and was trained like a sprinter-ran three times as a 3 yr old, asI was a racing official in NOrth Dakota then I had some bad luck and she has not raced again until 2009/2010. I am training her now. She had her best finish in her life now to be 4th..Things are looking up..Sally has a younger sibling by my stallion Lazzeri who has been named Sciro. Also have another mare who had a foal by Lazzeri also and I look forward to training these foals.

Sally ran again th eother day and ralllied to be 4th, her best race yet. Allthough she still raced 6 wide thru out the race. If we drop to rail we may run 2nd.

Sally's last race

Tuesday Sally ran in Race 5 as No.5 and she exploded on the backside to run up to the leaders and then faded at the top of the stretch to finish 7th a really impressive move.. the Jockey never said a word and I do not know any more than when i sent her to the track.. she did not get as worked up so mayabe we are there...
